18 month playdate

Today we met up with Sophie and Grace, Stephanie and Sara for our monthly play date. This time we met at the mall and played in their indoor play space. The theme of the play area was wellness so Henry went down a slide that was part of a giant broccoli floret. There was a stethoscope he liked jumping off of and there was a giant tennis shoe he enjoyed climbing.

At one point Henry escaped by climbing over the edge of the seating area to visit an area with rides that require money in order to get their full effect. There was another ride on the other side of the play area that was like a merry-go-round for three which was perfect for our group. The kids took turns riding on a dog, in a boat and in a train.

After playtime, we worked up an appetite and headed over to applebees. There was three moms and three toddlers so I am sure we were quite the sight. The kids were awesome, very well behaved and the mom's got to catch up with each other. It's fun to have friends with children the same age to discuss things with.

Grace was having a rough moment just before leaving the play area so she didn't want to smile for my camera. She is a doll! On the rides she was saying, "Weeeeee"! It was too cute.

Henry was happy to finally get to ride on a ride. I took the bink from him, he smiled and then screamed for it back. He is using it less and less which is great but it seems he likes to have it most while sleeping, in the car, and when we are out and about. Whatever, the doctor isn't worried so I'm not worried. I am sure he will continue to use it less and less.

Sophie was hamming it up on Stephanie's cell phone. She is quite the talker on the phone and has figured out how to use it quite well. Steph was saying she randomly dials people all the time so she started locking the phone! She is too cute!
All the kids had a good time at the play area and all the moms were happy to have children worn out. By the time we got home, Henry was ready for a diaper change and a nap. He didn't sleep long which made for a grumpy evening but so far Saturday has been great so I can't complain. Tonight we are cleaning the garage and storage area - maybe we will finally be able to park both cars in the garage since moving!
