We spent the past 5 days at the lake. Every family has a special spot for vacation and ours is the Spirit Lake, where my husbands family owns a cottage and has for over 50 years. I have been lucky enough to have spent at least a few days every year, for the last 8 years, the last week in July. We spend time on the water, we shop the fun boutiques for anything and everything and spend our evenings on the deck talking about everything under the sun.
This was Henry's first time to a beach, well, we went twice, once to North Beach and once to South Beach while we were there. He really liked the beach, he wanted to run up and down and got into the water up to his knees. His first time he was in a regular diaper because of all the things his mother forgot to pack, his swimsuit was number 1! I could not believe it! Who forgets their child's suit when they are going to the lake?! Anyway, we ended up purchasing swim diapers and they worked perfect. The first time though, he has sand everywhere so at the end of the beach trip we took the diaper off and kept dipping him in the lake so that we could get all the sand off his parts! He thought that was a lot of fun!
The beach had a park and Henry was all about climbing on the equipment. He is sooooo busy, and just too much fun. He has started to make more efforts to talk and is spending less time with the bink. I just think he is so stinking cute!
You cannot beat the sunsets on the deck at the cottage. It faces straight west and is framed perfectly by the tall, tall, oak trees. We feel so blessed to have a wonderful spot to spend vacation year after year!
Ryan and I are taking Thursday and Friday off to do yard work.... I know, awesome way to spend vacation, but it just has to be done! I will take before and after pics this time to show our progress! Wish us luck!

Don't worry about the swimsuit, not sure why babies even need them when they invented swim diapers :) It's not like they're ugly and they do a better job than the swim trunks!
