On Saturday, Henry visited Grandpa and his friends Rick, Pat, and Eric at the farm. Rick has a full time job but also has a family farm and each year, Jim helps with harvest. Henry had not been to a working farm before so it was fun to see what he thought about the tractor and combine.
He was a big fan of the tractor grandpa was driving but was unsure of the combine. Grandma showed him how to stomp on a cornstalk and let him run in the fields. We went after the Iowa game was over so there wasn't much sunlight left in the day but I am glad we got a few good shots in. Carol was the photographer so I have to give her credit for the photos. Ryan and I were running errands for the hour they were playing on the farm. Thanks to Pat and Rick for letting Henry come out and see the farm and play in the field! He loved it!

that's what i miss about being closer to home...my dad's farm. *sigh* i know baylen would love riding in the tractor and combine w/ papa. last time we were home, he rode w/ papa and so did brynn and they just loved it. i bet henry was in awe. now you have to have someone get him a john deere tractor for xmas. baylen has one that he can push around, but it's not metal, it's heavy-duty plastic and makes noises and lights up a bit. he LOVES it. oh the farm...how fun!
Love it, and I bet Henry had a blast. My nephew pretty much requires tractor or combine rides when my sister's family visits my parents. He also wants to move near them so these can be more frequent. ha ha.
